Scent Notes Explained
Top notes: These are the initial, light scents you smell when you first light your candle. They provide the first impression and tend to be fresh and bright, but they fade relatively quickly.
Middle notes (or heart notes): These emerge after the top notes dissipate. They are the core of the fragrance and typically last longer than the top notes. Middle notes often include floral, fruity, or herbal scents and provide depth and complexity to the candle.
Base notes: These are the foundation of the fragrance and develop after the middle notes. They are the longest-lasting notes and tend to be rich, deep, and often include woody, musky, or resinous elements. Base notes give the candle its lasting power and character.
The interaction of these three layers creates the overall scent profile of a candle, making it an evolving sensory experience.
